Celebrating 31 years!

Since the event's inception in 1990, Walk for Warmth has helped thousands of Macomb County residents stay warm and in their homes during the coldest months of the year.

About Walk for Warmth

Though it might look different from years past, our 31st annual Walk for Warmth is kicking off with support from neighborhood heroes like you! Join us this February 21st – 27th as we help keep the heat on for Macomb County residents in need this winter. We know it’s cold outside and Michigan weather is famously unpredictable, so we’ve extended our usual one-day event to one whole week! Pick a day, pick a place, and enjoy your beautiful local parks and trails.

The first 100 Walkers to sign up will receive a Wally the Walker scarf to wear as you go! We strongly encourage virtual participation by using #W4W2021 and tagging us on Facebook or Twitter. All virtual participants who snap photos and tag us will be entered for our photo contests: Prettiest Woofin' Walker, Most Magical Winter Trail, and Family Fun Runners!

Pledge to walk for warmth here!

Find photo contest information, trail maps, safety information, and more here!

People who participate in Walk for Warmth are volunteers, stakeholders, elected officials, individual donors, corporate funders, event sponsors, community partners, and community members, past and current clients, and vendors.
