Macomb Community Action Office of Senior Services to offer first time Medicare enrollment assistance
Through the Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) "Happy Birthday 65!" initiative, Macomb Community Action Office of Senior Services is offering presentations and counseling assistance for Macomb County seniors that will be applying for Medicare for the first time.
A resident's initial Medicare enrollment period is three months before, three months after and the month of his or her 65th birthday. The MMAP "Happy Birthday 65!" program allows trained resource specialists to help consumers with their Medicare choices, including:
- Understanding Medicare insurance needs
- Comparing Medicare drug plans
- Explaining Medicare Advantage Plans
- Reviewing Medigap coverage choices
- Applying for help to pay for Medicare coverage
"Happy Birthday 65!" presentations are scheduled for:
Wednesday, September 19, 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
