Home Injury prevention program
Home Injury Prevention Program installs devices to ensure safety and prevent falls and injuries in the homes of eligible Macomb County seniors.
Program staff will conduct an assessment, make recommendations and install one or more of the following safety devices:
- Grab Bars
- Shower Chairs
- Transfer Benches
- Toilet Assist Rails
- Raised Toilet Seats
- Indoor and Outdoor Handrails
- Smoke Alarms
The suggested contribution is $10 per device and $10 for the safety assessment.

- Age 60 and older

Temporary Modular Ramps
Macomb Community Action installs temporary modular aluminum ramps on a short-term basis for disabled seniors. When the ramps are no longer needed, they are removed and used for new participants. The number of ramps is limited. A waiting list is maintained for this project. There is an income-dependent monthly usage fee (suggested, not required) for all temporary ramp installations.
