Community Services

Macomb County's Human Services Coordinating Body (HSCB), in partnership with county officials, today launched MATRIX (Macomb's Access to Resource Information Xpress), a resource designed to link Macomb residents to health and human services. The program features a digital questionnaire that helps indicate residents' needs and immediately link them to county departments providing those services.

The Macomb Community Action Accessibility Program is a one-time, grant-funded program designed to make site-built residential homes in Macomb County more accessible to residents in need.

Assists Macomb County seniors and adults with disabilities with grass cutting and snow removal.

The Community Services Division of Macomb Community Action receives Emergency Solution Grant (ESG) funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to support homelessness prevention, emergency shelter, and related services.

A program designed to assist with fall prevention in the home by providing a safety assessment and installation of recommended devices.

A block grant program specifically for housing that is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The HOME Program allows for the repair and development of housing.

Assists eligible homeowners with repairs to achieve decent, safe and sanitary affordable housing as defined by Macomb County Housing Rehabilitation Standards.

The Macomb Community Action Minor Home Repair Program is currently serving eligible residents of Armada Township, Armada Village, Mount Clemens, New Haven, Shelby Township, and Washington Township only. To qualify, you must be income eligible, be the owner-occupant of your residence, and meet one of the following criteria; (1) senior citizen age 60 or older; (2) severely disabled; or (3) mobile home owner-occupant.

Macomb Community Action's Transportation program provides transportation to essential medical appointments and other specific locations for eligible Macomb County residents. Services are also provided in coordination with other Macomb Community Action programs such as Head Start, Meals on Wheels and the Adult Day Care Program.
