Free Career Training In High Demand Fields For Residents Of Macomb County
The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged Macomb County residents - jobs were lost, and educational plans were put on hold.
In response, Macomb County Community Action is proud to provide tuition assistance for income eligible residents of Macomb County to attend classes offered by Macomb Community College.
Participants can earn credentials in one of ten areas:

Depending on interest levels, classes are added regularly, please apply, even if a start date has passed or is several months in the future.
Income Requirements
Tuition assistance is provided as well as other costs to complete the program, which may include books, tools and testing fees. The program is available to Macomb County residents who live in households which are categorized as low- to moderate-income.
Macomb County gross income limits by household size. To qualify, the total income for everyone living within a household must not exceed the maximum amount:

Eligibility
- The applicant must have experience a financial difficulty related to the COVID-19 pandemic;
- The applicant must provide the following information* with the application that is provided by MCC:
- Completed application signed by all household members 18 years of age or older; and
- Copy of front and back of primary applicant’s State of Michigan Driver’s License or State Identification card; and
- Current 1040 federal income tax return for all household members 18 years of age or older.

*Based on the information provided, the applicant may be required to provide source documentation such as W2s, 1099s, benefit letters, etc.
How do I apply?
To sign up, fill out the pre-screening form through Macomb Community College. Once approved, the college will send additional paperwork to verify everyone who lives in your households income.
We recommend that you begin the process by applying at least three weeks in advance of the program start date.
