Children and Family Services

The Children and Family Services division consists of Head Start 0 – 5 and the Macomb Food Program, a non-profit organization. The focus areas of the division include school readiness and food insecurity among the county’s most vulnerable populations. Funding sources include but are not limited to: The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and Head Start/Early Head Start/Child Care Partnership Federal grants.

Head Start is an early childhood development and education program for income-eligible families. The program provides a range of services for pregnant women and families with children ages 0 - 5. We partner with each family to promote high-quality school readiness at no cost.

Applications are accepted year-round at this website.

 

Macomb Food Program

The Macomb Food Program provides immediate relief to those in need of food through a network of more than 70 pantries and hunger relief organizations. The program supplies food at no cost to ensure pantry shelves are stocked and operates as a non-profit organization.
